Waste recycler sees 60% uplift in domestic skip hire

Waste recycler sees 60% uplift in domestic skip hire

Following the decision to temporarily close at the end of March and operate only with skeleton staff to service critical contracts during lockdown, the waste recycler, NWH Group, has seen a record 60% increase in domestic skip customers.

The business has been able to unfurlough nine members of staff to support the increase in demand.

Mark Williams CEO at NWH Group, said: “These are difficult times for many as we are all trying to adjust to a new way of life. We are aware the public services are stretched in many cities throughout the UK and in order to best support our communities whilst councils are overwhelmed with additional domestic waste production, we have been able to respond with additional collections and the provision of skip hire.

“There remain issues with fly-tipping, but it’s encouraging that people are generally using their time constructively, getting things done around the house, and are being responsible with waste disposal.

“We are really proud of our staff who are keeping things moving just now, and playing our part in the response to Covid-19.”

The NWH Group has put in place several new social distancing measures to enable the safe delivery and collection of domestic waste skips that ensure the safety of employees and customers.

With a fleet of 2,000 skips ready for hire, NWH is open for domestic customers in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Newcastle. Find out more here: https://www.nwhgroup.co.uk/domestic-customers/skip-hire/
