Our Past to Our Future

Our Past to Our Future

In 1967, the Williams family laid the foundation of our traditional haulage business, beginning an incredible journey. Over the years, our company has consistently embraced forward-thinking strategies, propelling us to become one of the leading waste management providers in the UK.

Since our entry into the trade waste market in 2014, we have been relentless in our pursuit of growth and innovation. Our achievements include the establishment of our first site in England and the introduction of a cutting-edge material recycling facility in Newcastle in 2018. These milestones have pushed the boundaries of what is possible in our industry.

What truly sets us apart, however, is our unwavering dedication to digital advancements and sustainability. We are committed to developing and identifying new technologies that will shape the future of waste management. Additionally, our investment in electric vehicles showcases our commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.

In September 2021, a significant milestone was achieved in our endeavour to become carbon-negative as we transitioned six of our company cars to electric vehicles. These new Tesla Model 3 electric cars were allocated to team members in various regions of Scotland and Northeast England, encompassing roles in account management, compliance, sales, operations, and service delivery.

However, our commitment to sustainability does not end there. In the same year, we made a pledge to convert our entire vehicle fleet to electric, starting with company cars. Additionally, our organisation would explore hybrid options to cater to diverse user needs and consider adopting electric trucks, skip vehicles, and excavators.

In 2023 we moved one step closer to honouring this pledge with our ground-breaking partnership with Volvo to trial the new era of sustainable waste transportation. Together, we're revolutionising the industry by introducing the cutting-edge Volvo FE Electric HGV skip vehicle, showcasing our profound commitment to carbon reduction and environmental stewardship. The Volvo FE Electric is equipped with Multilift skip loader bodywork and powered by two electric motors that deliver a peak torque of 850 Nm.

At our core, we believe in aiming higher and leading our industry for the benefit of the planet. This is merely the beginning of our journey with 2024 on the horizon, we eagerly anticipate the exciting prospects that lie ahead.
