NWH Group in the running for Top Employer Awards

NWH Group in the running for Top Employer Awards

We are delighted to share the news that we have been selected as a finalist in two categories at The Herald’s Top Employer Awards 2022.

All the entries were scrutinised by a panel of industry experts, and The NWH Group has made the top five in the Best Training & Skills Development Initiative and the Medium Employer of the Year categories.

The final results were announced on Wednesday 26th October during the awards ceremony at the Doubletree by Hilton hotel in Glasgow.

Nicola Williams, Sales and Marketing Director at The NWH Group said: “As one of the UK’s leading recycling and waste management businesses, we’re on a mission to change the industry for the benefit of the planet, and it’s fantastic to see the efforts of our team being recognised by The Herald’s Top Employer Awards.

“We believe in growing and developing talent from within. We’re committed to the personal and professional development of all our employees and have set the bold target of ensuring that by 2025, 20% of our total workforce will have come through our own apprenticeship scheme, development programmes or sponsored scholarships.

“We are a second-generation family business, and our people mean everything.”

The Herald’s Top Employer Awards recognise outstanding examples of businesses where care for employees is embedded firmly into the culture of the organisation. These are the businesses that prioritise training and progression, with an understanding that supporting their people is the best way to achieve positive results, and it is these kinds of companies that the Awards have always sought to celebrate.

Lee Ann Panglea, Head of the CIPD in Scotland and Northern Ireland, sponsors of the Best Training and Skills Development Initiative, said: "Congratulations to everyone who has been recognised for everything they are doing to be a great employer by being shortlisted for The Herald Top Employer Awards. We look forward to celebrating with the finalists and winners at next month's awards ceremony."
