Meet the team: Rachel Morrison

Rachel Morrison, Customer Support & Sub-contract Co-Ordinator

The NWH Group is a family run business, and we have been since our inception over 50 years ago. But to us this is much more than just the founding family, it includes each and every member of the NWH team. So, let us introduce you Rachel.

As part of our customer support team, you will find Rachel liaising with our customers and sub-contractors each day. She joined the business in October 2019 and is passionate about our providing brilliant service to our customers. We caught up with Rachel recently to find out more about her.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy having fun days out with my husband and three kids, socialising with friends and family as well as keeping fit.

Where are you from and where do you live now?

I am originally from Danderhall in Edinburgh and I now live in Gorebridge.

What would you recommend doing in your hometown? What’s the highlights?

There are lots of gorgeous walks nearby.

If you could visit anywhere in the world where would it be?

It would probably be the Seychelles or Maldives.

Tell us a fact about yourself that would surprise people.

When I was younger, I was a championship dancer.

What’s your favourite thing about your role?

My favourite thing about my role is helping the customers achieve the best outcome for any queries or job requests that they may have. I like to make sure that any requests are dealt with in a timely matter and are done right the first time. Happy customers are loyal customers :-)

I also love learning about the different types of hazardous waste and how all the different types of waste are recycled.

What does a typical workday look like for you and what are your main duties at NWH?

My main duties include planning and scheduling jobs that we need to outsource. I arrange quotes for internal account managers and external customers, maintain contracts, set up new agreements, deal with queries via email or phone and investigate and resolve any invoice/billing queries.

If you could swap roles with anyone at NWH for a day, who would it be and why?

I would love to swap with one of the directors and see what it is like to run a company for the day.

What three words would you use to describe NWH?

Friendly, loyal and innovative.

Tell us your NWH highlight.

Apart from the amazing Christmas night that was put on for all the staff in 2019, it would be that I was given the opportunity to progress into a new role after only a short period of time with the company.
