Meet the team: Kevin Logue

Our workforce of 350 are spread across 10 depots in Scotland and North East England. So it's about time we introduced some of them. Time to meet Kevin, our Dundee Depot Manager who has been with NWH for 5 and a half years.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I love cooking and enjoy spending my spare time hill climbing.

Where are you from and where do you live now?

Born and bred Dundee and still stay here.

What would you recommend doing in your hometown? What’s the highlights?

There is so much to do in Dundee, but I would say a visit to the V&A museum, a walk up the Law Hill and the biggest highlight would be a night on the town with me.

Tell us a fact about yourself that would surprise people.

I am a time served baker.

What was your first job? And your worst job?

First job was an Apprentice Baker, and my worst job would have been working offshore.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?

Oysters but I did enjoy them.

What’s your favourite thing about your role?

The stress, it keeps me being a grumpy b** so I am told ☺

What does a typical workday look like for you and what are your main duties at NWH?

I start my day around 6.15-6.30am and cover most of the day-to-day running of the yard, plus I co-ordinate the trucks and running of the office so all in all, quite a busy day.

If you could swap roles with anyone at NWH for a day, who would it be and why?

Probably Mark Williams just to see how it all comes together daily looking down from the top, plus he has a bigger office than me.

What three words would you use to describe NWH?

Progressive, Challenging, Fair.

Being made Depot manager closely followed by taking Mark’s dog for a swim in the swimming pool in my pants.
