NWH Group Celebrates Earth Day 2024 with Community Litter Pick and Education Drive

At the NWH Group, as one of Scotland's leading national waste and recycling business’s, we marked Earth Day 2024 with an inspiring community initiative. A dedicated team of our staff members collaborated with Loanhead Primary School to carry out a litter pick in the school's surrounding areas.

The litter pick not only aimed to clean up local spaces but also provided an invaluable opportunity for NWH Group staff to educate young minds about the importance of recycling and reusing. This dual-purpose initiative underscores the our long-standing dedication to sustainability and community engagement.

"For over 50 years, sustainability has been at the heart of what we do at the NWH Group," said Abbie Bell, Marketing Executive at the NWH Group. "Earth Day is an important reminder of the collective responsibility we share to protect our planet. By partnering with Loanhead Primary School for this litter pick, we aimed not only to make a tangible difference in our local community but also to inspire and educate the next generation of environmental stewards."

The collaboration with Loanhead Primary School proved to be a rewarding experience for both the NWH Group staff and the students involved. The litter pick served as a hands-on lesson in environmental responsibility, encouraging children to take an active role in caring for their surroundings.

"We were delighted to join forces with the NWH Group for this Earth Day initiative," commented Libby McAdam a parent at Loanhead Primary School. "The children were enthusiastic about participating in the litter pick and learning more about recycling and reusing. It's fantastic to see local businesses like the NWH Group taking proactive steps to educate and engage our community in sustainable practices."

As one of Scotland's leading waste and recycling business, we will continue to set the benchmarks for environmental stewardship and corporate responsibility. Our Earth Day litter pick with Loanhead Primary School is just one example of our ongoing efforts to make a positive impact on the environment and support the communities we serve.
