Machine Operator

Role: Machine Operator 

Location: Dumfries

Hours: 48 hours per week

Rate of Pay: Up to £45,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities 

You will be responsible for operating plant machinery on site to support the day-to-day running of operations.

This will include operating:

  • Telehandler
  • Wheeled 360 Excavator
  • FLT

As part of the role, there is an expectation of working together as a team and supporting with general site duties where required.

  • Maintain a high level of safe working at all times
  • Operate plant machinery safely and efficiently
  • Loading shovel / plant operations in line with site requirements
  • Loading material into vehicles and fixed plant
  • Feeding machinery as required
  • Carry out daily safety checks and basic maintenance in line with company procedures
  • Refuelling plant and checking oil levels daily
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping across site
  • Communicate effectively with other operators and site staff
  • Report any defects or issues in line with company procedures
  • Ensure all plant and equipment is left safe and secure at the end of shift
  • Any other duties as required

What Are We Looking For?

  • Previous experience operating plant machinery
  • Telehandler, 360 Excavator and FLT experience preferred
  • Relevant tickets (NPORS / CPCS or equivalent) desirable
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • A team player with a flexible approach to work
  • Good understanding of health and safety
