NWH Group and Turing Trust partnership delivers digital learning milestone in Malawi

NWH Group and Turing Trust partnership delivers digital learning milestone in Malawi

The NWH Group, one of the UK’s leading national waste management and recycling businesses, is proud to announce the success of its ongoing partnership with The Turing Trust, which has helped deliver a major milestone in improving access to digital education across Malawi.

Through donations of electrical and IT equipment from The NWH Group, the partnership supported the delivery of six containers to Malawi in 2025, enabling the installation of more than 7,800 computers in schools across the country. These computers are now being installed in classrooms, providing thousands of young people with access to digital learning tools that can transform educational outcomes and future career opportunities.

The initiative is helping to bridge the digital divide by ensuring students and teachers have access to reliable technology, supporting skills development, confidence and long-term employability in communities where digital access has historically been limited.

Kelly Lock, Commercial Sales Lead at The NWH Group, said: “The NWH Group is committed to supporting impactful initiatives and working with partners who share our values around sustainability, social responsibility and positive community outcomes.

“We’re incredibly proud of what this partnership with The Turing Trust has achieved. It’s a very powerful example of how responsible reuse can create meaningful social impact while supporting sustainability goals. And knowing that donated equipment is now supporting learning for thousands of students in Malawi is hugely rewarding for the whole team here.”

Paul Rayner, Donations Coordinator at The Turing Trust, added: “Support from organisations like The NWH Group is vital to our work and has been instrumental in helping us reach more schools and communities in Malawi. Larger, bulk donations from businesses enable us to maximise impact and benefit from economies of scale - enabling us to get technology into classrooms more quickly and efficiently. This directly translates into life-changing opportunities for young people by providing them with access to digital learning and the skills they need for the future.”

As a next step, The NWH Group is now exploring ways to support the collection of smaller or residential donations, which could help widen participation and make it easier for individuals to contribute as part of a coordinated, efficient approach.
