Transport Team Leader Apprentice

Role: Transport Team Leader Apprentice 

Location: Newcastle 

Hours: Monday to Friday, Full Time

Salary: £21,000 per annum

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Transport Team Leader Apprentice, you will play a key role in supporting our Transport function while working towards your Level 3 Team Leader qualification. You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the day to day coordination of drivers and fleet operations
  • Assisting with route planning and workload allocation
  • Communicating effectively with drivers, customers and internal departments
  • Monitoring compliance with health and safety and transport legislation
  • Supporting driver performance, absence management and general welfare
  • Using transport systems and administrative processes accurately
  • Developing leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a team

This role combines practical on the job experience with structured apprenticeship learning to build your leadership capability within a busy operational environment.

What Are We Looking For?

  •  A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Confidence working in a fast paced operational environment
  • An interest in leadership and people management
  • Basic IT skills
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above, or willingness to work towards them

Previous transport experience is not essential, however an understanding of logistics or fleet operations would be beneficial.
