Yard Banksman

Role: Yard Banksman
Location: Leith Site 
Pay Rate: £12.98 per hour
Shift Pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday with overtime available

What Will You Be Doing?

• Directing safe and efficient vehicle movements within the yard

• Ensuring materials are tipped in line with the site working plan

• Monitoring incoming loads to ensure compliance

• Enforcing PPE and health & safety standards for all site visitors

• Keeping the yard area clean and tidy, particularly around the banksman shed

• Using water suppression systems to control dust

• Communicating clearly with machine operators and weighbridge staff

• Covering weighbridge operations when required

• Acting as a visible ambassador for NWH values, challenging unsafe behaviour professionally

What Are We Looking For?
We’re looking for someone with:

• Completed Banksman training

• A solid understanding of health and safety in a yard or industrial setting

• Confidence to communicate effectively and enforce safety standards

• Basic IT skills to support weighbridge cover

• A proactive, team-focused attitude

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail

• Experience in a quarry or recycling environment and Fire Warden training would be a bonus, but not essential.
