On this journey to eliminate waste we provide waste collection services to the Commercial & Industrial, Office, Leisure & Retail and Construction industries. Collecting waste with our fleet of Trade Refuse, Skip, Tipper, Grab and Walking Floor articulated vehicles, we transport materials to our material recycling facilities where we produce and recover valuable products such as metals, cardboard, paper, washed sands, biomass for energy and animal bedding.

We are now recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join our growing team based in the North East of England. The primary purpose of this role is to source and secure new business for the group, pricing to ensure maximum margins are achieved, and deliver excellent customer service.

You will be responsible for dealing with prospective customers securing new business to complement our customer portfolio, selling into the Commercial & Industrial sectors of the market with a focus on B2B account sales. This is a challenging role for a self-motivated, ambitious individual with a proven track record of sales achievement against target in this industry, who can cope well with the demands of a rapidly expanding business.

Due to the nature of the role, a driver is essential. Although experience working in the Waste and Recycling industry would be preferred, it is not essential to be considered.

This role will offer a salary of £29,000 to £33,000 per annum, with OTE of £32,2520 - 36,250 per annum.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Generating sales leads by various means in the North East of England
  • Overachieving specified monthly sales targets
  • Experienced in solution selling
  • Working in line with and actively promoting NWH Values
  • Plan and prioritise sales activities whilst achieving agreed business aims, including costs and profitability.
  • Developing leads within the Commercial & Industrial sector specifically selling contract services from our product suite.
  • Understanding market trends and customer needs using a solution based sales approach to add value and achieve higher margin.
  • Update and maintain data integrity and Pipeline Management contained within our CRM database
