On this journey to eliminate waste we provide waste collection services to the Commercial & Industrial, Office, Leisure & Retail and Construction industries. Collecting waste with our fleet of Trade Refuse, Skip, Tipper, Grab and Walking Floor articulated vehicles, we transport materials to our material recycling facilities where we produce and recover valuable products such as metals, cardboard, paper, washed sands, biomass for energy and animal bedding.

An exciting opportunity has arisen as MRF Technical Production Manager to join the business.  The role is to ensure NWH achieve optimal production and performance from our Leith operation. 

The focus of this role will be to ensure mechanically the plant is capable of optimal production, with full responsibility for scheduled maintenance and proactive monitoring to prevent unnecessary downtime.  This exciting role will be based in the control room where the successful candidate will actively monitor all tonnages, speeds, air flows and the overall production of the MRF.

Principal Accountabilities

Ensure the MRF meets defined key performance indicators whilst driving best practice and continuous improvement in cost control and productivity

·         Carryout all daily, weekly, monthly checks and complete all preventative maintenance

·         Work closely with Service Manager to schedule all planned maintenance to ensure minimal impact on production

·         Oversee and ensure compliance of Health & Safety Environmental, Employment legislation and Company policy to ensure defined standards and best practice are adhered to throughout the MRF operation

·         Monitor productivity, tonnages, and plant performance

·         Ensure KPI reports are completed weekly with a detailed understanding of the impact of performance

·         Report directly to the site manager

·         Quickly assess the cause of any breakdowns to the MRF and the ensure issues are rectified in the safest and quickest time possible

·         The successful candidate will not be responsible for the site operatives, this will be monitored with separate KPI's with the contracting company 24/7

 

Skills Required:

·         Strong customer focus

·         Strong interpersonal skills

·         Flexible

·         Single or 3 phase electrical qualifications or experience

·         Hydraulic experience is essential

·         Experience working on conveyer belts, motors, gearboxes desirable

·         Waste industry knowledge desirable

·         IOSH or NEBOSH
