At Opal Homes, the environmental
impact of our building developments is always considered.
Certain policies have been established with the environment
in mind, without compromising on quality.
• A high standard of natural building materials
are used, where possible, such as traditional stonework
for walls and heavy slate for roofs. The use of sustainable
materials, in conjunction with increased CFC free insulation,
minimizes CO2 emissions and consequently reduces gas and
electricity bills for our customers. As our natural resources
are becoming increasingly scarce, this measure will become
even more important. Opal Homes strive to exceed the ‘U
value’, as required by Building Standards.

Where appropriate, features such as solar panels, heat
pumps and grey water recycling systems will be incorporated
into any Opal Homes development.
