From Tipper Driver to Transport Manager

From Tipper Driver to Transport Manager

Eddie Macleod started at NWH over 17 years ago as a tipper driver and today we extend out congratulations to him as he passes his Transport Manager Certificate In Professional Competence (CPC) in Road Haulage.

As part of the Groups People Development Programme, the NWH Group sponsored, Eddie Macleod to study for his Transport Manager Certificate in Professional Competence (CPC) in Road Haulage. The accreditation is a legal requirement for Transport Managers to be named on the Operator Licences of any Road Transport business such as the NWH Group.

The course is very intense as it covers everything from financials to vehicle maintenance and ultimately provides the successful candidates with a complete skill set to assist in the running of an efficient Transport business. The course requires many hours of self-study and personal application to ensure success. It is entirely down to Eddies hard work and determination that he is now the holder of this certification.

When asked how he felt about the award Eddie responded;

“When I was asked if I wanted to sit the transport managers CPC course I had no hesitation in saying yes at such an opportunity. I didn’t realise all what was involved until I was handed a BIG folder with 30 modules in it to learn.

This was the biggest challenge I have ever done academically, to say I was ecstatic when I passed would be the understatement of the year. The fact that I have done myself proud and I hope the company proud makes it more special for me and I look forward to the challenges ahead. So, thank you.”

We extend our congratulations to Eddie and wish him every success as he develops further in the business and builds on his career at the NWH Group.
